Candle Filter Working Principle
Candle Filters are named based on their shape. These filter elements are usually hollow tubes with a cap on the bottom and a threaded connector on top that attaches to a header. The outer face of the tube is usually made of punch plate, expanded metal, sintered metal, or porous ceramic to provide support for the filter media.
- Feed to the filter is always positioned at the lower portion of the vessel to allow up-flow of the incoming slurry.
- Desired for maintaining fast setting solids in a homogeneous suspension and thus ensuring that uniform cakes are formed.
- An uneven cake thickness that tapers up interferes with the efficiency of cake washing and reduces the effective volume of the cake that accumulates on the filtering elements.
- To control the up-flow velocity an overflow connection is positioned on the dished top and the selected pump must be sized to deliver a higher rate than required for the calculated material balance.
Product Features
- Candle filter bags can be used repeatedly. When the filter material is damaged or too much dirt accumulates, they need to be replaced.
- Candle filter bags adopt a closed design with no seams, impurities are not easy to leak out, avoiding pollution to the environment and human body, and have a long service life.
Technical Parameter of Candle Filter Bags
Candle Filter fabric media is woven from high-quality polypropylene, nylon, PTFE, polyester and cotton textiles into various styles, with a filtration range from 1 to 900 microns. Fabric media also allows for higher flow rates.
